This exhibit display focussed on Rationing. People had to be inventive of what food they were given. Rationing started in 1940 and ended in 1954. Men in the army got a ration box to help them in the war. Mrs Greig baked some fabulous wartime bread for family and friends to taste. Also, we had carrot cookies and spam. For those who don't know what spam is, it is pork and ham mixed together. Most of all, I loved dressing up and doing the play and songs with the class.
I think the exhibit is excellent and it gives us an insight into how important food was to everyone during the war years.
